Get where you want to go faster - with macros and protocols
  • Protocols – a step-by-step approach to performing even the most complex biocomputing analyses
  • Macro – enter your data, start the Macro—and watch the hard work take place right before your eyes.

PROTOCOLS
What are Protocols?
  • Protocols are step-by-step guides to complex bioinformatics analyses that allow you to answer " high level" biological questions or perform routine analyses. Protocols eliminate hours spent puzzling over which programs or files to use on your data. Using Protocols is an excellent way to learn about bioinformatics.

Who should use Protocols?

  • Protocols are suitable for novice bioinformaticians or any biologist who wants to save time. Protocols can help busy scientists, who may need to interrupt an analysis unexpectedly, but want to return later to complete it, without losing track or repeating steps.

MACROS
What is a Macro?

  • A Macro is an Automated Protocol; a series of analytical steps through programs that allow you to replicate your own customized analyses at any time on new datasets. Simply select the desired Macro, import the appropriate data or data set and click RUN. Any series of analytical steps can be made into a Macro. You can create your own Macro or use any of those provided by Entigen.

How do I run a Macro?

  • Macros can be accessed and run from within BioNavigator just like any other program, You can even assign the functional category when you create a Macro. Each Macro you create is automatically added to the program list, making it easy to find when you want to use it again.
